Larry Clark
I really like Larry clarks work they're not the standard portrait where the model is looking at the camera, But when they are looking at the camera it isn't a normal face they're like pulling faces or half way through talking or something like that. He uses black and white in all of his photos i do really like this because it keeps the dull theme going throughout the photos showing that they're less fortunate. Even on the photos where they look like they're having fun the images still look pretty grey and gloomy, so i think there is more behind some of these images then what you can see. You can tell that there is a story behind each image and they make you think. For example the picture below on the left looks like he's in shock of seeing someone or something happening. The picture on the right below looks like he's waiting or thinking about things. These pictures don't look like the models where made to pose it looks like they have been caught in the moment.

Irving Penn
I really like her images i like the way she has used people not with flawless skin or the most perfect looking people she has used different people that you wouldn't expect people to take photos of. This shows off their character. This photographer also uses black and white i think in some ways its to show some of the features to look better and has kept the theme going throughout there work. I like the way in her photos she gets really close to the models face or does full length shots. I think these images make you feel a bit uncomfortable because they're not natural but they're not very poesy either. With these photos i can't relate to a story with them they just confuse me.

Irving Penn was born June 16 1917 in Plainfield U.S. and died October 7 2009, New York. American photographer is known for his advanced fashion images and sharp portraits. He began photographing his own ideas for covers and soon accepted himself as a fashion photographer. He used his wife for a lot of his images. Penn also became an influential portraitist. He photographed a large number of celebrities, engaging each subject to sit for hours and to reveal his or her personality to the camera.
Viviane Sassen
I really like this work. Its like she's hiding peoples identity it makes you think what she's trying to hide. She could be hiding the identity of the people or the fact they're a bit different or that they're not the prettiest of people. i love the composition of the photos the model/models are usually in the middle of the photos and the shadows are always covering their whole face or most of it. I like that they're in color I think this is to show and exploits them for having a different skin color. I love the way she has used the harsh light and has obviously crested the shadows by putting things in front of it.
